Professionally, and at my core, I am a graphic designer. I specialize in apparel graphic design as well as branding and identity design and I really love what I do. However, when I started MECA in 2016, my usual medium of choice was paint. When I create, it is usually either a toss up between realism or graphics. For this sale, I wanted to include one of my paintings that I made over this past year after not having done any since 2019. I find that painting has become a nostalgic thing for me, transporting me back with the smells and textures to my days learning in the studio. I love creating for the sake of creating, and with this piece I wanted to show off something from daily life, in realism and vibrant color.
