Sophia Sutherland

I’m a junior painting major and have recently experimented with found/recycled materials and the use of projection as an extension of my hand. What fuels my practice is hearing the oohs and aws and the questions that come up during studio visits and critiques, thus making me want to create pieces and spaces for interaction to take place. For example, rearranging dinosaur paintings to create your own. In these works I have a collection of memories ranging from the wipes I had in my childhood bathroom to childhood toys I once played with.
