Linden Frederick
I am a full-time painter. Since 1989 I have had 20 one-person shows (and my work has been included in 35 group shows) at American museums and galleries. I have been painting American life, and mostly small-town America, for over 35 years. For almost all of that time dusk or night has set the stage for my work. I’m not interested in telling a story in my paintings. However, the works have a narrative element with a distinctly American cultural emphasis.
My next show “After Midnight” is scheduled for 2022 at Forum Gallery in New York City. I have been invited to teach master classes at Bowdoin College of Art, Colby College of Art, and the New York Academy of Art, and have been invited to lecture many times over the years.
