Kathleen Galligan

Educated in Illustration at Philadelphia College of Art, Kathleen initially painted representational landscapes and honed her skills in the tactile and sensual medium of soft pastels. After garnering many accolades and awards for her work in pastels including publications in books, magazine and journals, she switched her medium to oils, creating both abstractions influenced by the natural world as well as representational and atmospheric landscapes of light, space, and movement. Kathleen’s work has been exhibited in California, Pennsylvania, New York, Maine and France. Other highlights of her professional career include a month-long residency at YADDO, and a two-week residency at Acadia National Park. Kathleen continues to exhibit her work in Maine and is represented by Greenhut Galleries, Portland, and Littlefield Gallery in Winter Harbor. Kathleen’s paintings are held in numerous private collections, both international and domestic, as well as in corporate and museum collections.
