Judith Schneider MFA ’14
In my paintings and prints, I investigate place and memory through the landscape. My work is about mapping my surroundings, visually exploring its topography, understanding its history. I’m interested in the physical properties of a site and how they interface with the thoughts and feelings I have when I am there. Experimenting with scale, color, value and texture, I am in pursuit of what is physically present, woven with memory, dreams and how the energy of “place” is conveyed.
