Frances Hynes
Hynes’ work has been shown at Elizabeth Moss Galleries, Falmouth, ME since 2011. Dan Kany in The Portland Press, June 30, 2013, reviewed her one-person exhibition, Lose Yourself At Sea. Kany also reviewed Marking Time: Of Land and Sea a three-person exhibition at Moss Galleries on February 25, 2018 that included Hynes’ paintings. Bruce Brown first introduced the painting to a Maine audience in a 1993 exhibition Looking at the Land at Maine Coast Artists in Rockport (now called CMCA in Rockland). Other Maine exhibition venues include: Portland Museum of Art; Ogunquit Museum of American Art; Bates College Museum of Art, Lewiston; L.C. Bates Museum, Hinkley; the Joseph Fiore Art Center, Jefferson; the Firehouse Center for the Falcon Foundation, Damariscotta; and Maine Farmland Trust Gallery, Belfast; etc.
