Dolores Chretien ’64

I am a lover of nature inside (I bring wildflowers in) or out. I get my inspiration from walks around the lake or woods. I do art because it gives me pleasure to work with the materials. I love the fact that acrylics dry so fast, since I like to keep the freshness. I use acrylics on paper. I start with placing colored strokes on the page. I freeze up before a white sheet of watercolor paper. The works for the show are mainly derived from scenes on my walks painted in an exaggerated way with bright colors, so as to inspire the viewers to appreciate the fragile beauty of the natural world.
