Chris Reed
I am a landscape oil painter. Inspired by Tonalism of the late 19th century, I focus on creating a feeling of peace in my landscapes. This is accomplished by staining the canvas with various warm tones for capturing early morning and evening light. I gradually add darker tones to build contrast and may later apply glazes to accentuate the light and depth further. I hope my work generates a greater connection and appreciation to nature.
