The works I’m creating in this moment are acts of longing, finding, and recording. I’m finding beauty in the small things, and searching for the bigger things within. Dissociation, a feeling of disconnection from all reality, has been present my whole life. Through storytelling and snapshots I retell moments before they are gone. Along the way I find connections and answers of the running themes in my life, mental illness, queerness, trauma, and religion. The rigorous process of printmaking allows me to truly focus on the making, which becomes an important part of the searching and longing process. Recreating the wonders of nature and childhood through imagery and stories helps me find connection to myself and to the Earth.
