Aileen Agnew

After decades of studying and working in the fields of archaeology and history, and raising a family, Aileen took up painting about ten years ago. She has taken painting and drawing classes at MECA since then with Diane Dahlke and Adeline Goldminc-Tronzo and others. She also studies in classes with Adeline in her studio in Eliot, Maine and en plein air in Maine, New Hampshire and Provence, France. Aileen’s work is representational but is an interpretation, not a literal depiction. She has lived in Maine since 1981, and now resides in Portland.
