Amuri Morris

Amuri Morris is an artist based in Richmond, Va. She recently graduated from painting and printmaking at Virginia Commonwealth University. Throughout the years she has acquired several artistic accolades such as a Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Fellowship and has participated in over a dozen exhbitions. She is a contemporary realist, inspired by the classical realism of still life and portraiture. The craftsmanship of painting is very important to her. The paintings I create are a result of years spent honing my artistic skills, and studying techniques of past artists, as well as contemporary artists. Her works focus on the manifestation of an ethereal viewing experience from simplified subject matter. She wants to capture something extraordinary in the ordinary.
