Marguerite Lawler
What is most engaging for me as a painter is capturing the contained space of an environment through the contrast of shadows and the forms they create. I am interested in depicting moment in time and infusing it with a personal narrative. In the studio, many of the studies are translated into large oil paintings on panel. Using my visual memory, imagery, and intuition, the paintings are then an opportunity to explore and discover new pathways. Marguerite Lawler’s education includes a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design, and a MFA from City University of New York. Marguerite’s paintings have been featured in Maine Home, and Maine Decor Magazines along with Maine College of Art publications. Her work is in both private and corporate collections. Marguerite’s work is exhibited at Hole in the Wall Studioworks, and Ocean House Gallery.
