Adriane Herman
Driven by connection and community, Chair of MECA&D Printmaking, Adriane Herman has had solo shows at Adam Baumgold Gallery (NYC); Western Exhibitions (Chicago); Speedwell Contemporary (Portland); and CMCA; and undertaken residencies in Mexico, India, Nova Scotia, and Eastport and Yarmouth, Maine. Her work is featured in Printmaking at the Edge; Survey of Contemporary Printmaking; and Imprint of Place: Maine Printmaking 1800-2005. Her work is in The Whitney Museum of American Art, among other collections. An active collaborator with Maine Prisoner Advocacy Coalition to facilitate arts programming in Maine prisons, Herman worked with Kadie Annice’s Liberation Graphics class to bring presses and wood type into Southern Maine Women’s Reentry Center to create letterpress and pressure prints with residents. Herman editioned her “I Find These Touching” reductive relief prints on the Vandercook Sp25 at Chicago’s Spudnik Press.
