I’m a longtime – though not native – Portland resident, a passionate painter, and a recovering architect. I paint for mood and emotion – sadness, joy, sorrow, doom, exaltation, etc. – expressed through color, form, texture and tension. I’ve lived in – and loved – decaying coastal cities all my life where crumbling old walls form the backdrop for life. An aesthetic of abused, reused and dying surfaces is the starting point for most of my work.
