Sarah Beard

My landscape paintings are inspired by a desire to share the joy or other emotional pull of the particular place and moment. I graduated with a bachelors degree in studio art from Bowdoin College in 1981 and have been painting ever since, including as a continuing studies student in Diane Dahlke’s Painting Practice and Painting Critique classes at MECA&D. I live in Freeport and work there and at my family’s home in Swans Island. Hiking in Maine and elsewhere brings me no end of joy and to places and moments I want to share in my paintings.
