Rooke Hyde ’14

Born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised within a family of artist, Rooke Hyde has always had a passion for art and art making. While studying at the Maine College of Art, Hyde became fascinated with the human body as a subject. Using the figure, Hyde explores issues of identity and the relationship between our bodies and the constructed landscape. Since graduating from MECA in 2014, Hyde has worked and exhibited throughout the art community of the greater Boston area and has been an active member of the cast metal arts community. In 2017 Rooke Hyde co-organized “The Grind” a networking event for metal casting artists and organizations at the International Conference on Contemporary Cast Iron Arts(ICCCIA) in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Hyde is currently studying for their MFA in sculpture at Alfred University in Alfred NY.
