I have been making things for as long as I can remember. I love working in metal, and am constantly challenged by the tug of war between the technical skills and the aesthetic execution. I am influenced by Oceanic and African artifacts. Like the indigenous people of these areas, I strive to make work that celebrates the ceremony of everyday life. I can’t help but draw from the beautiful natural surroundings of the Maine coast – the contrasting shapes and textures of the plants, rocks and water.
