MECA’s Continuing Studies program totally changed my life: from a practicing psychologist in Portland to a lifelong learner of painting and drawing and seeing the world through the artist’s eye. Light, color, shadow, nuance, perspective, and composition became my focus , and the visual world opened for me. I love tackling a variety of subjects – from florals to landscapes, food items to the figure. The butteriness of oil paint is always a thrill to move around, and then to see a 3-dimensional item “appear” on the canvas in 2D is very exciting. I highly recommend the CS program as a means to enlarge your world and tap your creative juices.
