Eric Glass ’80
A native of Freeport, Eric graduated from MECA (then Portland School of Art) in 1980 with a BFA in painting. He paints the land and sea around Maine both plein air and studio pieces. The artist takes on other subjects as well, such as vintage airplanes. Eric’s working style is often in the mode of traditional painting, building on a warm tinted canvas and sometimes glazing colors. The artist considers it a compliment when his work has been said to have “an old look”. Eric often considers subjects that may be passed by, like a brook running through a town, or a radial airplane engine as still life. These are imbued with intrigue and beauty on canvas.
