Emma Whitaker ’17
My name is Emma and I am an artist and children’s art educator based in North Bethesda, MD. As a child, I witnessed the breathtaking flowering that occurs each year in Castelluccio di Norcia, Italy. The flowers, such as daffodils, violets, lentils, and poppies, blossom in beautiful stripes. I continue to take inspiration from this awe-inspiring vista, creating round paintings that are like portals into faraway landscapes. Painting stripes is a meditative process for me, and I hope that my artwork brings you that same sense of comfort and serenity, as well as a touch of playfulness and vitality!
