Cade Jarvis ’20

In these paintings, painter Cade Jarvis highlights the beauty of power lines and their relationship with the sky. Jarvis contemplates how these lines, ubiquitous and necessary in our daily lives, create drawings against the heavens. In a world where there are editing programs available specifically to remove power lines from photographs, these paintings exist as odes to the necessity and oft-missed delicacy of these cables which serve to connect us all to the rest of the world. This connectivity is important to Jarvis as the depicted power lines in his paintings are recreations of those he has documented on his travels around the different States and Countries he has visited. These serve as a constant reminder of the relationships he has built and nourished along the way.
