Abbeth Russell ’11

Abbeth Russell’s mission in life is to connect with all living things and other realms through creation. Abbeth is a painter, performer, songwriter, and teacher. At home and while traveling, she makes and shares her art, hosts community events, juggles, sings, and plays a variety of instruments including harmonica and musical saw. Her magical surreal narratives are influenced by our world but exist closer to the spirit realm. The mythologies she creates are born in sketchbooks and raised on wood panels, imbued with the life force of acrylic paint. During the process, each painting transforms from an image into a living object with a soul.
